Understandably, we are thrilled that Ellipse has achieved so much over the past few years. Since we are a privately held company with a tiny set of shareholders, our charitable initiatives can be funded without much effort. And, since each year we get stronger in our economic positioning, our corporate tithing increases commensurately. We’ve been able to help so many organizations, companies and apartment communities lighten their work load with the technology solutions we provide, and the future looks bright with our Ellipse Symphony℠ suite of services.
We hope by now that everyone has been made more aware of the dangers of breast cancer and successful treatments available, via the initiatives that we have championed since efforts in 2001 with the Breast Cancer Companion website, through our 2006 Buck Up and Wear It Campaign. To date, Ellipse has contributed over $30,000 dollars to this cause, along with applied employee time and talent to this worthy cause, and we will continue to do so.
Others may be aware of the website development work we have done for some of our apartment associations such as the Apartment Association of Greater Memphis, Apartment Association of Greater Columbia, SWAHMA, the Southwestern Affordable Housing Management Association in San Antonio and our complimentary development work for REFEA, the Real Estate Financial Executives Association in Dallas. Since the loss of our companion, Steve Swan, Ellipse carries the burden of educating our industry about the needs for our community residents who are victims of violent crime. At the 2008 National Apartment Association in Orlando Florida we promoted and raised money for the The National Center for Victims of Crime (NCVC.org) in Washington, DC.
You might not know that more than once over the past years we have given back to our community by providing design and development or hosting services to local charitable organizations. In the past, we supported The Unity Church of Grapevine, the Caruso Effect website completed in conjunction with ABC's television program The Benefactor, and the Community Literacy Center in Oklahoma City, specialists in teaching adults to read. In 2008, we created the Project Pet in Columbia, SC as we continue to create a community that will assist, develop, promote and strengthen the quality of life for our companion animals. Recent projects we are supporting includes Bhante Wimala of the Triple Gem Society, and Helping Our Helpers of Dallas.
One of the benefits of being able to profit from doing work that you also happen to love is the chance to give back to the community. Maybe you are a space in your life where you are able to do just the same. If you are part of a community organization and your group needs an Internet presence, we would be glad to review your options. You know, it never hurts to ask.
